Crosswords (ongoing series...)
Crosswords is an ongoing series. The crossword puzzles have been taken from the New York Times the day a mass shooting or school shooting has happened.
All crosswords are about the same size as the puzzles are in the NY Times.
All works are toner and paper on unprimed canvas. All works are 20" x 16".
I have worked on this series since 2014 and there have been very different approaches, from extremely loose 4'x3' paintings to painting small versions using only turpentine and ground sanquine conte. I decided to start anew with the series, shown here.
